Calico Club’s latest collaboration is one with the legendary Paul & Shark from Varese, Italy. Several years of working together created a close bond with Paul & Shark’s staff, meaning this was the logical next step.
Varese to Venlo
The recognisable legacy of Paul & Shark and chosen items have been tweaked to modern standards. The fit of certain items has changed to something Calico Club advocates for. Materials and interior finishes have been updated to ones more recently developed. What is present of Paul & Shark’s rich history is the use of historic colour blocking, patches and fonts. The capsule collection still oozes that vintage sportswear feeling. The efforts of both Calico Club / and Paul & Shark’s design team have resulted in a capsule containing a coach jacket, l/s polo, half zip fleece crewneck, half zip pique crewneck, 3 t-shirts and a cap.
The context and inspiration was plain and simple. Something which has been Calico Club’s main focus for the past few years: 70s and 80s sportswear. Our own take on what everyone calls ‘casual’: re-working vintage sportswear styles to modern standards - original pirate material.
