Cruyff & Calico Club present: JOHAN CRUYFF
When Cruyff asked us to be launch partner for their new Johan Cruyff label there was no reason to say no, all the more reason to say yes. Johan Cruyff remains one of the most prominent, recognisable and influential footballers in the sport’s history. A talent like no other, but his accolades are more than just footballing skills. Johan's fashion sense, like his playing style, was iconic, captivating, and unmistakably his. The Johan Cruyff label embodies his unique personality and timeless style. We don’t have to hide why this partnership makes perfect sense and it’s an honour for us to host a clothing collection with that connection.
So how do you get the 1971 Ballon D’Or to your store? Well… host a launch party for the Johan Cruyff label. There was even talk of getting his old Citroën SM to Venlo, but we had to make do with a 1:6 scale model. We were proud to host John van ’t Schip & Aron Winter to tell stories about their experiences and time with Johan. We could’ve listened to their stories for another 90 minutes, but footballers don’t play two 90-minute matches after each other for a reason.
